The noise level completely depends on your neighbors as the walls between units are incredibly thin in the North units. There is a community Quiet Hour from 10pm-8am so management can help if neighbors are loud during those hours if it's something like music or a movie, but there isnt much to do about a crying baby other than hope your neighbors didnt put the kids room next to yours. Same goes for cleanliness of stairwells--it all depends on your neighbors' willingness to comply with the rules. Applications are a lottery system so you cant really plan on having a north (new) or south (old) unit. Summer heat is manageable if you buy a window AC unit--which you can usually find for sale for a decent price on the Wymount Community Facebook page when people are moving--and a standing fan or two. If you graduate in the spring you have until late July to move out, if you graduate in December you only have a week to move out due to high demand for open apartments. Each building has a parking lot with space for 1 car per unit but you may end up parking fairly far from the building depending on how full your lot is or even where its located--there are a few buildings whose parking lot is a bit of a walk away. I recommend driving through the area to get an idea of what space is available to which buildings and see some of the differences between North and South Wymount.

We have been living in a one-bedroom at Wymount for the past two months and we're very happy with it. Maintenance is incredibly fast and reliable. Neighbors are really friendly and kind. Rent is ridiculously cheap compared to the majority of housing off campus. Right now we pay $790 per month, plus electricity ($30-50 depending on what you're running), plus laundry ($1.25 per wash and .25 per dryer with cougar cash). That's it. Plus you and your spouse can have one car registered with Wymount parking (plus you can park in any Y lots on campus). Plus it's never hard to find parking near our apartment. Not to mention, WiFi is good, you just need a personal router. I also really appreciate the Ryde, which is a bus system that takes you to/from the Foreign Languages Building/BYU Student Health Center to the MOA every 30 minutes usually. I will also note that my husband isn't a BYU student, and we were worried about that. But it isn't an issue at all. Our only concerns are probably that 1) bugs/spiders like to say hello inside our home a few times a week, 2) the heat wave was rough because no in-unit AC and we didn't want to try to cool the whole apartment with our personal floor unit (except we did at night just for our bedroom), and 3) there's not a ton of space (but it's not bad, you just need to be smart with how you store things), 4) the wait-list can be tricky (but doable if you stick with it). Honestly though, this is a great place. And if you don't like it, the contracts are monthly, meaning you could totally say you want to leave and be out in a month:) Such a good place, would definitely recommend.

Wymount is a great place for married couples to live. It's affordable and the wards are great!

Wymount was excellent for us at the time: inexpensive, close to campus, and around great people in a similar phase of life. Now that we've moved, we have come to appreciate having more space and air conditioning. :)

North Wymount is very cozy, quiet, and family-friendly. I have absolutely loved living here and plan to live here for the rest of my time at BYU. While no AC does tend to deter people, if you get a good AC unit it really makes it all worth it. The apartments are bigger than your average married apartment you'll find in Provo, and the price is affordable! Management is also so quick to fix anything and very pleasant to work with. The community is also great at Wymount.

It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for. Mold, fumigation issues, no central A/C, old locks on doors and no security cameras or surveillance to help protect the tenants. Most non-student housing does not get away with many of the things BYU has.

Walk-in kitchen pantry if you live on the ends of the buildingin South Wymount. All second and third level apartments in South Wymount (in the 2 bedroom buildings) have a storage closet in addition to a regular closet in one of the bedrooms.

Having no dishwasher and minimal kitchen space was really difficult. The central heat was nice but hated having to buy and manage a window AC unit. Lots of bugs, even though we had the apt sprayed twice within 6 months. Great places for people to play with young children and friendly neighbors. Maintenance very on top of it. Loved the clear communication with BYU, we never had any issues or sneaky charges.

10/10 recommend. The only downside is there is no AC and for a lot of the apartments there are cinderblock walls. But other than that no complaints here! The ward is also awesome! Other than Wyview you won't find a better place for the price!

Wymount is some of the best housing for married BYU students, as long as you're in North Wymount. The two bedroom apartments are the perfect size for a young couple to live in.

They keep these apartments nice, your money actually goes back into maintaining the apartments instead of someone’s profit. There’s no dishwasher or AC but other than that this place is clean, feels new, and is great.

It's old, but maintenance is fast at fixing any requests. The community is awesome and it's close to campus. There is also a shuttle that goes from Wymount to BYU.

It is so fun being around people that are in the same stage of life as you. It’s super clean and well kept. Pretty spacious as well the only downside is not very much storage space.

There are parts about it that are really old, but for the proximity to BYU campus and its cost, it's really hard to beat, especially compared to other married/family housing. Pros: -It's safe and friendly. It varies, of course, but I've always had pretty nice wards and neighbors too. It has a really chill feel about it. -It's very cheap compared to similar housing in other places. -Contracts are easy to get out of when you need to. You give a month's notice, and then you can just be gone. I never had to worry about the exact time of when I left, so long as I gave them that month (no selling contracts/not being able to get out of a contract.) -Between word of mouth, signs, friendly ward members and Facebook pages, you can wind up with a lot of free or cheap secondhand furniture here. Always keep an eye out. -It's quiet and pretty. There's the occasional baby or little kid or party, but it's married housing, so that's pretty much expected. Never had too much noise, or enough for me to notice once it got late. Lots of pretty trees and sidewalks to walk around on. -It's PRETTY close to a Ryde stop by the Student Health Center, and one by the FLSR. I say pretty close, because some apartments are much further up the hill, and the walk to these stops is longer/uphill. Still, I wound up using the Ryde to get to campus most days (drops you off at the MOA) Cons: -OLD. These are very old. Even the newest section (North Wymount) is rather old. I know they recently put in new fridges, but lots of things about it are just a little beat up or not up to date. Carpet is incredibly thin and the floors are very, very hard. -Ants. Even when they spray for bugs, you still get these guys trying to sneak in about once a year. Definitely have them come spray for bugs, and definitely set out your own ant bait. -NO AC. I cannot stress enough that having no AC in summer here is no fun at all. Even with lots of fans, the units get absolutely baking hot. If you're staying here during spring/summer, investing in your own AC unit (which you have to set up yourself) is really your best bet (We tried one summer without it, and eventually caved in.) Thankfully, you can often score free or cheap used ones from residents moving away. -Parking is unassigned and a complete gamble. If you're trying to park between 8-5ish, you're probably okay. You start getting into the evening though, and you'll wind up parking further and further from your actual apartment. It can be a major hassle since so much of Wymount is up and down hills. -No dishwasher. This is just nit-picky, but since dishwashers are becoming a staple at a lot of other housing, it always bummed me out that they never updated the units to have dishwashers, as this would have saved a lot of time for us. -Non-furnished? I feel like this is the norm for this sort of housing, however, do note it comes with no furniture whatsoever beyond a fridge and oven (no microwave). They do furniture rentals, but DI furniture or furniture from your neighbors can be much cheaper over time. Not really a pro or con, but do watch out as there are differences between South and North Wymount. Having stayed at both, you can definitely make either work, however, North Wymount is newer and honestly a lot nicer in my opinion. While it doesn't have balconies like South Wymount, North Wymount has nice, non-cinderblock walls, and unless they've recently updated South Wymount, North Wymount has newer ovens too.

Great price- okay quality. They are pretty old but still function well. But things are dated and worn but they still get the job done. No central AC, no dishwasher, cinder block walls and the industrial carpets are all a bit of a downside but not a deal breaker. The wards and sense of community are great though and I have loved that most about Wymount.

Although it is small, the price is great and the apartments/ grounds are well kept. It’s so close to campus and really worth it if you’re a newly married couple.
