Get the lowdown before you sign a lease

It was quite the experience. Definitely an interesting living arrangement and interacting with hotel guests about which elevator they were supposed to use was always a confusing experience for everyone. While it is like a decent distance from Ensign College the cons might outweigh the pros. Did I mention this is a HOTEL. In Downtown SLC. The view of the temple was like fine if you're into that but a friendly reminder that when the Jazz win and people are celebrating at the TRAX station, you will hear it while you're having your nightly mental breakdowns so try and schedule those around the Jazz home game schedule. Final tip, interacting with homeless people is not recommended because if you're a small child who doesn't know how to interact with people different than you so you laugh your way through uncomfortable situations, they will get mad at you.

My stay there was brief but positive.

During the summer, Redstone took over Raintree and decided to renovate all the apartments. They told us it would only take place during the summer so that we wouldn't have to move during the semester. Not only did they end up making us move during the semester, but also in the middle of the week. The "renovated apartments" are in worse condition than they were before. The pictures and videos above are from the day they expected us to move into our "renovated" apartment. I told management that the apartment had not been cleaned and asked if they could clean it first and then let us move during the weekend. The guy in the office actually yelled at me, telling me that I was lying about the apartment not being clean, saying that he watched them clean it himself and that it was just dust settling. He told me I was being "unreasonable" by asking for a couple of extra days to move. Our brand new dishwasher in our apartment did not work and the maintenance guy said he couldn't fix it. When we talked to the people in the office, they said that the dishwashers weren't in stock and they would let us know when they got one (even though they were actively doing renovations and had a bunch of new dishwashers). We never got a new dishwasher before we moved out. The videos show what you can expect your renovated apartment to be. It's obvious that they cut as many corners as possible, just so that they could raise the rent.

Living so close to campus is seriously sooo convenient, but the complex is so big that there are definitely downsides too. There are regularly parties with drugs and alcohol in the shared amenity areas and there are residents who blatantly vandalize and leave litter around the property. I’ve lived here for three years now and overall I’ve had a good experience at The Green. The interiors of the apartments are really nice if taken care of and the complex is overall well maintained. It can be a great choice for student housing for those that want the convenience of living across from campus, albeit there are definitely more affordable options out there.
